I tried to use a colorless blender and showed my Tiktok following.
To which someone replied, “learn how to use a colorless blender!”
So I did.
Naturally, I headed to YouTube and found a fabulous tutorial by The Frugal Crafter.
Here’s what I learned.

Warning! Before you start…
When coloring, I always recommend adding a blank page behind the page you’re coloring (even when the pages seem thick enough).
You’ll want to double or even triple up your pages when using a colorless blender.
A colorless blender will bleed the color through the page significantly more. It also needs to be pretty wet to blend, so make sure you don’t ruin the coloring pages behind the page you’re working on.
Step 1 – Prime your coloring page with your colorless blender.
The original mistake I made when I started was using the colorless blender AFTER I colored my page.
I guess this is pretty common.
Instead, you’re supposed to prime the surface you want to blend by coloring it with the colorless blender FIRST.
Step 2 – Add your color.
If the colors you’re using are close in shade, then two colors should be okay. If one is light and one is dark, you may want to add a third color somewhere in between.

Add your colors.
Step 3 – Blend your alcohol markers together.
You will want to be quick when you do this. If you have sections, do one section at a time.
You want to make sure the paper is still wet when you blend. If it dries, it will be harder to blend and may not blend well at all.
You may have to go over it a few times to get a really good color blend.
Now you know how to blend using a colorless blender!
